2007 Trail Riders January Club Ride 9:00 at the Baldwin staging area on January 27, 2007, 27 riders joined together for a nice 53 mile journey throughout our trail system. Our fearless leader, "trust me" Dave Garland led the group South towards Bowman's bridge on trail three through Gleason's Landing before venturing out on the back roads leading to our trail system North of Highway 10. Our first rest stop 10 miles into the trip was a Dexter and Highway 10. Break stop #1 Once across Highway 10, the snow began to become white and we enjoyed fairly decent conditions as we headed out towards Timber Creek, and then North onto some forest roads. The sun and blue sky was intermixed with heavy clouds and lake effect snow bursts. Perfect weather for playing in the woods. Our next break was near the north east corner of our trail system by wolf lake. Break Stop #2 By this time, our breakfast was wearing off and we headed the complete opposite way of where we were towards our commercial member, the Oasis in Branch to warm up and have some lunch. The last mile of trail gave everyone's suspension a COMPLETE workout, but all made it safe and sound. The Oasis After lunch the group headed back towards Baldwin via the back roads. After resting up, most everyone, and a some that didn't ride ended back at the Pleasant Plains township hall for a great dinner and general membership meeting.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the ride and the dinner / meeting . It was nice to have a fun and safe club event. If you have additional pictures, please email them to treasurerdave@sbcglobal.net.
